Expert Witness Advice to the Courts

As an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Dr. Sillifant provides expert witness advice to the legal system. She advises within public and private civil law proceedings. 

Dr. Sillifant is in an ideal position to provide both an objective and specialised opinion on the mental health/ emotional needs of children and young people. Over many years she has worked with Looked After and Adopted children. This experience informs her understanding of the many challenges faced by children and families at times of potential family breakdown and beyond.  

Dr. Sillifant  works as a single jointly agreed expert in the more complex care proceedings,  particularly when there are difficult decisions to make about placement and care planning that will protect the emotional wellbeing of the young people concerned.
